José L.S. Gámez is an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the Coordinator of the Design+Society Research Center (College of Arts+Architecture, UNC Charlotte).  He is also a member of the Latin American Studies faculty.

José is co-chairing a session with Susan Rogers (University of Houston) at the 2009 ACSA Annual Convention to be held in Portland, Oregon, in March.  Next year’s conference theme is “The Value of Design;”  Gámez and Rogers’ session is titled “Urban by Design” and the call for papers can be found at:
